Semi Private Lesson                                               $45.00 (or $35.00 when prepaying for 8 lessons)

General Information:

  • All students (unless beginning at higher level) will be spending the first lesson on the ground learning to handle and groom the horses. For remaining lessons, part of the lesson time is spent in the barn, teaching students how to properly handle, groom and tack the horses.

  • Students should arrive 15 minutes prior to their first lesson. Students and parents will have an opportunity to meet the barn assistant and riding instructor, and will also have a tour of the barn.

  • After the first lesson, students will be expected to arrive 1/2 hour prior to their lesson time to prepare their horses for the lesson, and stay 1/2 hour after the lesson to untack and groom their horses and put equipment away.

  • As parents, we ask that you make sure that your child arrives on time, and that you do not rush them to leave once the riding portion of their lesson is over

Please note: Family & Friends are not permitted in the barn areas. We do have a barn worker in the barn to assist riders. If you do need to speak to your children in the barn, please alert a staff member.

Spectators are welcome outside the arena, please just don't bring along your dog! Our horses are very calm and gentle, but we don't want to add any extra distraction.

It is quite common for beginners to be nervous at the start of the program. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the office at 289-659-2541 or canteendestiny@gmail.com

What to wear:

  • Boots with a minimum of a 1-inch heel - riding boots or cowboy boots preferred but not mandatory as long as the boot has a heel of at least 1-1 1/2 inches

  • ASTM certified riding helmet - if you do not own one, they can be rented for $3 per lesson (bicycle or other sport helmets not allowed)

  • Long pants - riding breeches (if riding English), leggings,  comfortable jeans (for Western), or sweat pants - something that you can move in!

  • Riding gloves recommended but not required

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel a lesson, please contact at least 24 hours before the schedule time. Failure to do so may result in being charged the cost of the lesson. If you have prepaid, it will count as a completed lesson.
