Campers may bring their own bag lunch, snacks, refillable water bottles or beverages or they may take advantage of our healthy organic lunches and snacks from our Tuck Shop for a fee. They should also bring a hat, sunscreen, running shoes/athletic sandals (no flip flops), weather appropriate clothing and bug repellent as required for daily outdoor activities.
Should I send my teen with money?
At Canteen Destiny we have a Tuck Shop that is open during break time, so be sure to send your teen with some pocket change to enjoy snacks or a healthy organic lunch.
Can my teen bring his/her cell phone?
It might be best for teens to leave their cell phones at home so it is safe and sound as there will be various outdoor activities. As with all possessions that are brought to camp, there is always potential for accidents and theft although we do try to do our best to keep this from happening. We do not encourage phone calls as we find this disrupts the camper and camp experience.

If your teen must bring a cell phone, we have a secure place where they must check in their phone at the beginning of the day and they may check it out at the end of the day.

If you need to get a hold of your teen, we have a number you can call to reach them.

There is also a Program Coordinator that oversees the daily activities and programs. The Program Coordinator is available to trouble shoot issues, take people on tours, connect with and mentor the members, and provide overall supervision. We are fully conscious of our responsibility for the care of your teen, and we take this responsibility very seriously. All staff make it a priority to ensure everyone is emotionally and physically safe. The Canteen Destiny’s member behavior guidelines are based on respect for self, others, the equipment and the facility.
